Our Team
Hala & Nuha Alaw
Hala and Nuha Alaw are 200-hour Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT) originally from Iraq.
Hala and Nuha discovered yoga in 2016 and quickly embraced it as a transformative practice. For Hala, yoga strengthens the connection between mind and body while helping to build and tone muscles. For Nuha, it became a tool to manage anxiety and reduce panic attacks.
Motivated by their own healing journeys, they became yoga instructors to share the benefits of yoga and inspire others to integrate mindfulness and authenticity into their practice.

Shannon Lashlee
Shannon Lashlee has been a certified Sivananda yoga teacher for 15 years. She came to the asana practice just two weeks after her father died. Her greatest teacher, dragged her to her first yoga classes. Today, twenty years later, she credits the practice of yoga with making the important lifestyle changes that would set her on the path to becoming the person she is today.
She likes to remind her students that looking good and feeling good are merely positive side-effects of the asana practice. The purpose of yoga is to create a body and mind that can sit still and meditate. Because meditation is where the real magic happens.
15 years of funeral service fully informed the person Shannon is today. She learned that to be a successful human, one must equally care for her body, mind, soul, and relationships. She takes pleasure in many aspects of life such as reading a good book, staying connected to her people, golfing, working out at Iron Tribe in Franklin, hiking with her two dogs, Eden and Eleanor, and enjoying the arts, especially live music!
Chad & Jenn Fitzgerald
Chad and I decided to open New Moon Yoga after watching the heartbreaking closing of studio after studio during the Pandemic.
One of the studios that closed was Half Moon Yoga Healing, one of Franklin’s most respected and authentic studios, run by Robbie Short. This was my (Jenn’s) home studio, where I began by sweeping the studio floors, developed a disciplined practice, found many mentors, received my certification and eventually taught classes.
Chad and I want to honor the integrity of the original studio while continuing to build the yoga community in Franklin.
I continue to teach and study to deepen my understanding of yogic philosophy and its traditions. Chad enjoys taking classes to find balance for his physical and mental health.
We are longtime residents of Franklin, have two children , two dogs and a cat no one knows about.
We are so excited about our latest adventure and about cultivating authentic community with others!
